കൊല്‍ക്കത്തയില്‍ നടന്ന രഞ്ജി ട്രോഫിയില്‍ കേരളവും ബംഗാളും തമ്മിലുള്ള മത്സരം സമനിലയില്‍ പിരിഞ്ഞു. മഴ മൂലം മത്സരത്തിലെ ഭൂരിഭാഗം സമയവും മഴ കൊണ്ട് പോയിരുന്നു. ഇതോടെ ഒന്നാം ഇന്നിംഗ്‌സ് ലീഡ് നേടിയതിന്റെ ബലത്തില്‍ ബംഗാളിനെതിരെ കേരളത്തിന് രണ്ട് പോയിന്റുകള്‍ ലഭിച്ചു. ബംഗാളാകട്ടെ സമനില കൊണ്ട് തൃപ്തിപ്പെടേണ്ടി വന്നു.

ബംഗാളിന്റെ ഇന്നിംഗ്‌സില്‍ ശുഭം ദേ (67), സുദീപ് ചാറ്റര്‍ജി (57) എന്നിവര്‍ മികച്ച പ്രകടനം കാഴ്ചവച്ചു. കേരളത്തിനായി ജലജ് സക്‌സേനയും ആദിത്യ സര്‍വതെയും ഓരോ വിക്കറ്റ് വീതം നേടി.
ഈ സമനിലയോടെ കേരളം എലൈറ്റ് ഗ്രൂപ്പ് സിയില്‍ രണ്ടാം സ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് ഉയര്‍ന്നു. ഹരിയാനയാണ് പോയന്റ് പട്ടികയില്‍ ഒന്നാമത്.
