ഇംഗ്ലണ്ടിനെതിരായ പരമ്പരയിലെ ആദ്യ മത്സരങ്ങളില്‍ രാഹുല്‍ ഫോമിലായിരുന്നില്ലെങ്കിലും, മൂന്നാം മത്സരത്തില്‍ 40 റണ്‍സടിച്ച് ഫോം വീണ്ടെടുത്തു. രാഹുല്‍ ഒന്നാം നമ്പര്‍ വിക്കറ്റ് കീപ്പറായി തുടരുമെങ്കിലും, ബാറ്റിംഗ് പൊസിഷനെക്കുറിച്ച് ഗംഭീര്‍ വ്യക്തമായ മറുപടി നല്‍കിയില്ല.
